Choose the milling process around the rice you need to sell. The number of stages, degree of separation and control over whitening matter as much as the model name.
Single-stage and Engelberg mills
A single-stage steel mill combines husk and bran removal in a relatively simple chamber. N90 and NX110 are commonly associated with this family. Mechanical familiarity can be useful, but grain stress and broken rice are important limitations.
Rubber-roll huskers
A rubber-roll husker removes the husk with paired rollers. It is one stage in a process, not necessarily a complete mill. Check what equipment separates husk, returns unhusked paddy and whitens brown rice.
Two-stage compact mills
Compact two-stage equipment separates husking from whitening. An SB-type system may be worth comparing when whole-grain recovery is more valuable. Confirm the actual functions and consumables included in a quote.
Multi-stage systems
A complete line may include cleaning, husking, paddy separation, whitening, grading and polishing. It needs matched capacities, more space and a plan for operators, maintenance and power. Adding a polisher alone does not fix poor husking or damaged paddy.
Which type fits your business?
For an established fleet, spare-part availability and mechanics may favour familiar equipment. For premium rice, compare sample results and the value of whole grains. For larger volumes, check each stage for bottlenecks.
