Start by measuring paddy input over a timed run. A low finished-rice weight can reflect recovery or separation losses, while low paddy throughput points to a flow, drive, adjustment or wear problem.
Easy checks first
Record how much paddy is processed, the run time and any stops. Compare with a previous run using similar paddy and settings. Check the input grain for moisture differences, foreign material or a change of variety.
Check for interrupted feed
Irregular feed can leave the chamber starved or overload it. Stop and isolate the machine before inspecting accessible passages for lodged straw, dust or foreign objects. Never push a blockage through by hand with the drive connected.
Inspect the screen and outlet
A blocked screen or restricted outlet can slow discharge. After isolation, clean accessible deposits using the machine instructions and inspect for damaged slots or loose attachments. Replace damaged parts only after measuring the fitment.
Look for belt and drive problems
Belt dust, glazing, looseness or a change in output under load may indicate slipping or alignment problems. Have a competent technician check tension, pulleys and the drive. Never tighten a moving belt or remove guards during operation.
Check milling components and adjustment
Wear changes chamber clearance and grain movement. Compare the screen, drum and shaft condition with the machine instructions. Change only approved adjustments, one at a time, and record both output and broken-rice level.
Repair or replace?
Repair is a sensible first step when output dropped suddenly and an identifiable fault explains the change. Consider replacement when restored performance still cannot meet daily demand, or quality losses remain commercially unacceptable.
